red shift dress - ribbon detail

I'm throwing in a work dress. This is the only time you'll ever see this one, I wore it and hated wearing it and donated it the next weekend. Not every dress deserves to stay.

I think the shoes with this dress was a misfire - but I wanted to feature all my favorite red and black shoes this week - so here are the plaid boots from Demonia that I've replaced once already (that brand is not made to last) and will replace again if I can. : )

please excuse the poor quality of the photos - still working with the new camera and figuring out it's limitations.

Why didn't you like the dress? It looks so lovely on the first photo, but it's indded so strange on the others...:)

I love those boots, when I wanted platform boots, I considered this type...^^

I liked the red dress, but it could've used some alterations to show-off your figure better :)

is that an actual ribbon or a trompe-l'oeil ribbon? but props to you for getting rid of it. I've got a bag of clothes that i never wear and don't like but still... i'm like maybe i'll DIY something with them. but no...

I'm sad that dress didn't work out for you! It's so cute! But sometimes they just don't fit or feel right and no amount if alteration can fix it. You're so right about Demonias... So many cute styles but I have a hard time committing to them because of the quality. And the wacky sizing.... They seem so inconsistent! Do you find that you are always able to wear about the same size from their line?

You work those boots so well!

Hmm, I agree that the dress wasn't quite right - it was very pretty and could have looked lovely, but alterations were definitely needed.

That's yet another person who say that demonia boots don't last - do you have any recommendations for other big goff boots? I'm in love with some of their styles, but don't want to fork out the price tag for such a seemingly badly made boot.

@Lynoire - The fit was totally "off" - and the material was really uncomfortable to wear - also the length really isn't right for my stature. Oh well - plenty more dresses in the sea! : )

@Audronasha - The boots will last a couple of years depending on how often I wear them. These days I prefer saving up for New Rock boots or Pennangalan beauties so that I know I have many years to enjoy them!

@Underground- I agree! : )

@1666 x 30 - It's embroidered or appliqued onto the dress - it's the whole reason I bought the darn thing in the first place! : )

@VictorianKitty - I have trouble with Demonia's sizing too! So annoying. I've had to return a few pairs of their shoes due to the sizing being totally off! Frustrating. I miss all the great shops that USED to be on South Street in Philly - I used to be able to try boots on before buying. Long gone are those days. sad.

@Mary Rose - Thank you!!

@An Honest Drug- I recommend saving up your money and buying New Rock boots or Pennangalan boots! AMAZING styles and great quality! I bought a random pair of (nameless) big fancy boots on ebay the other year and boy was I pissed - the fit was horrible, and the construction was super cheap/ cheesy - so not worth it! I never even wore them - but didn't bother returning b/c the cost to ship would have made it super stupid. Ended up selling them at a consignment shop.
