2 more projects in Red and Black

I'm really enjoying making themed posts for Victorian Kitty's Red & Black week. Even more, I'm enjoying her posts and checking out what other bloggers came up with so far this week! If you somehow ended up here without going there first, go check her posts out - you'll be IMPRESSED!

On to my next red & black post:

I got this David Bowie T-shirt on clearance at H&M, have had it for months and never wore it.
Guess it was just a bit too basic for me.
(look at me remembering to take a "before" picture!)

I nipped it in at my waist, cut off the sleeves and the neck and added lacing in the back (sorry no photos of the back-blame Industrial Ken) -

While I had the sewing machine out, I decided to make a sham for a throw pillow for our bed. The pillow didn't go with the new quilt. Now it matches perfectly and I can change it back next winter to match the other comforter!
 Bonus: Red and black floral arrangement and red and black blazer!

I love your shirt-refashionings. I can't believe how versatile a simmple T-Shirt can bee, thank you for your great examples and inspiration.
I ecspecially love the David-Bowie-mod!
If you happen to visit London this year, there is a great exhibition in the V&A, I can highly recommend it (though the shirts they sold weren't that beautiful, only reason I didn't buy any).

@HExOtica- Thanks!! You'd LOVE my house! : ) Someday maybe you'll be in the area and I can have you over for tea! (but I won't let you into my dressing room...for fear you'll nab half my wardrobe - lol - I'd nab yours!)

@ette - I really found my favorite sewing project - and it has endless possibilities! You should just start cutting and sewing - you'd be surprised how easy it is! Thanks for the tip about the exhibit at V&A - WISH I could travel to London this year! : )

Cool pillow! But it's not fair, why don't they sell these cool fabrics over here?! :P

Wnyways, I love what you did to that top, it definitely looks better after you altered it! ^^

Oooh, the sleeves!!! I LOVE that! It doesn't even look like a t-shirt anymore (the before and after comparison is amazing). And hey - glasses! Are those just for sun, or prescription? You look so cute in them!

I love the difference in the pre and after pictures. Even your expression in the face tells that the alteration is much better :). The shirt is much better after!!

Love this outfit. It's light colored but I would still wear it. I use leggings and miniskirt combination myself :)

@Lynoire - Thanks! I hope you can find some fun fabrics soon! : ) Shop around Halloween for the best stuff!

@MadamNoire - I think sewing projects give me the greatest satisfaction when I finish them successfully - I need to do more! : )

@Insomniac - Thank you lady! The "little ruffle" is actually a skirt - lol!

@1666 x 30 - Thank you!

@VictorianKitty - You're sweet! I have very bad vision, but mostly I wear contacts. Those are simple sunglasses from way back. You always look fantastic in your glasses too!

@linnea-maria- I am so glad I finally remembered to do a "before" photo! I'll try to remember next time I do a project too!

@Audronasha - At this age I'm better off with leggings under short skirts! : )

@Caitlin - Thank you!
