My Halloween Quilt is FINISHED!

3.3.13

Hello friends!

I'm super excited because I made my very first quilt! I took a sewing class and had a vision and a whole stockpile of fabric - plus some help from Industrial Ken - and two months later - TA DA!

I even have cool fabric on the flip side, so it's reversible!

Ooooh, you did a fantastic job! And I really like the reverse side a lot, too!

Marvelous bed BTW, and from what I can see, the nightstands look pretty fantastic, too! :D

This quilt is stunning!

I want one now! I never did have much patience with patchwork though!

Amazing! Your bedroom looks so spooky now. I admire such dedication to make it perfect - taking a class even!

BTW, your bed is the most gothic one I've ever seen. Awesome!

Ah!! It's gorgeous! Clever idea with the flipside as well. I think your bedroom furniture is beautiful. Nice to see some interior pictures :)

Oh my! That is really quite amazing! I think I like the reverse side better because I prefer monochrome to colours, and because that swirly leaves fabric is gorgeous, and because I have a particular fondness for key designs (and clocks). The batty fabric you put great stripes of across your quilt is pretty snazzy, too, and the black and dark grey swirls down the side. I quite like the squares and stripes design; it's a nice, modern, simple design that works well with that kind of design. One of the triangles and squares and octagons and suchlike fancy pattern might work with things like the swirls or the leaves, but wouldn't suit the more graphic patterns like the big spiders or the cupcakes.

Oh! Another thing: I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR HEADBOARD! I want one like that SO MUCH.

Thanks so much everyone! I kept the design pretty simple since I'm such a novice, plus it gave ample room for the fabric's patterns to shine!

The big reason it turned out at all was that Industrial Ken did almost all the cutting! He is really good at making things PERFECT! : ) It would have been quite a mess if I had cut all the pieces.

So glad everyone likes OUR first quilt! : )

Oh wow! I'm so proud of you almost as if I really knew you! LOL What a treasure you've created! I'm drooling over your pillow cases and that throw pillow, too. I've been meaning to take up learning to sew more seriously myself. Color me very impressed!

Your bed looks quite small, what size is it?
